If you are an Instagram junky with over 10,000 followers, you are likely familiar with Instagram Badges. This feature allows anyone who views your live stream to buy a badge priced at $0.99, $1.99, and $4.99.
Similar to the tip jar feature that we told you about in our previous article, this is an excellent way for artists to make money by simply interacting with their fans. Let’s go over a quick overview of how to use these badges so you can begin making money.
You must first determine if you are qualified to use badges during your live streams. Badge users must be 18 years or older and have a creator or business Instagram profile. In addition, you will need to abide by the Partner Monetization Policies. As previously stated, you’ll also need at least 10,000 followers to take advantage of this tool.
To begin earning this extra income by going live, you must first enable the feature. In the Instagram app, go to “Profile,” then click “Professional Dashboard,” then tap “Grow Your Business” followed by “Badges.” From there, you’ll then tap the “Badges” icon on the left side of your “Going Live” screen. Confirm you want badges turned on, create a title for your live stream, then go live.
Set Up Direct Deposit
Be sure to enter your payment information so that Instagram will deposit your money into your account. All funds will be directly deposited, so make sure you have your social security number and banking information. This information can be updated as needed in the “Settings.”
Make Up To $250 Per Viewer
Viewers on your live can purchase multiple badges during the stream. In fact, they can buy up to $250 worth of badges. This is all the more reason why your live should be engaging and hold people’s attention. Remember, the creator gets 100% of the money from their badges.
All artists should utilize this feature to bring in a few extra bucks if they meet the criteria. If you are receiving badges throughout your live stream, be sure to thank buyers for their support. The more grateful you are, the more people will be willing to purchase a badge from you.
