Your music producer is tasked with delivering fire beats for your musical endeavors. They play a vital role in bringing your musical vision to life. However, sometimes their rhythms do not align with your creative ideas for your projects. If this is a producer you’ve used multiple times, you may feel loyal to them. But, for the sake of your music, there may come a time when you’ll need to cut ties, even if it is only temporarily.
Let’s check out the two primary signs that it is time for a new producer.
Unable to Provide Beats You Need
Some producers may only specialize in certain types of beats. For instance, trap beat producers may not have the range to execute sounds outside of that. In some cases, some may not even want to. If you are ready to try your lyrics over different styles of beats, your producer should respect this, but if they cannot achieve it, it is time to go to someone who can. Do not sell yourself short.
Unable to Tweak Beats to Your Liking
There may be a beat that you are in love with, but you feel that it needs drums. Your producer should be able to implement this easily. If they cannot, consider trying out someone who can. You should release your music once it is to your liking. Never settle.
We are not saying turn your back on your long-term producer completely, but you have the right to be a perfectionist as an artist. Ask yourself how you want your next single to sound and if your current producer is capable of giving you the vibes. If they are not, look elsewhere.
