Cardi B’s viral hit “Bodak Yellow” is now diamond-certified.
Yesterday, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) revealed that “Bodak Yellow” has sold over 10 million copies. This monumental accomplishment makes Cardi the first female rapper in history to have a diamond-certified single.
In a video shared on Twitter, The 28-year-old is seen receiving her diamond plaque. A member of Cardi’s team removes a sheet from the plaque, which sparks applause from those in the room. The New York raptress seems to be in disbelief as she asks, “It’s diamond? For real?”

“Bodak Yellow” was a hit instant hit upon its release in 2017. The single went on to become the longest-running Billboard No. 1 song by a female rapper before being dethroned by Lizzo’s “Truth Hurts.” “Bodak Yellow” was the lead single from Cardi’s debut album “Invasion of Privacy,” which earned the Grammy for Best Rap Album in 2019.
Cardi B is readying her highly anticipated sophomore album later this year. The first single, “WAP,” featuring Megan Thee Stallion, is now 5x platinum. The follow-up single “Up” continues to climb the charts and is making its rounds through the TikTok challenge realm.
Congratulations to Cardi B.
