Mexican reggaeton rapper Dan Sur has taken the jewelry game to new heights by implanting gold links into his scalp.
The 23-year-old claims to be the first rapper to undergo the extreme operation. When explaining how he is able to rock gold chains as hair, Sur says that he has one main hook embedded in his head that includes other hooks all over it, which are implanted under his scalp. He says he removes the chains only to sleep and replaces them to their hooks every day.
A plastic surgeon is speaking out against the dangerous procedure and warning others not to follow in Dan Sur's footsteps.
"Implants like this are not safe. They introduce an easy path for bacteria between the outside world and the internal body. In this case, the bone covering the brain. In addition, I am concerned about the amount of weight these hooks are supporting," said Dr. Frank Agullo, who did not perform the surgery.
It is unsure exactly when Dan Sur got his gold hair, but a music video from June shows his flaunting his chained locks.
