Drake Named Billboard's Artist Of The Decade

Drake has been crowned Billboard's Artist of the Decade and will receive the honor at this year's award ceremony.

To be Artist of the Decade, Billboard ranks the best-performing artists based on their placements on the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200 chart. Artists touring revenue and social media platforms during the decade is also considered. To name this year's honoree, Billboard collected data from December 1st, 2009 to September 30th, 2019.

Drake made his Billboard charts debut in 2009. Since then, the "Take Care" rapper/crooner has landed nine Billboard 200 No. 1s in the 2010s. His illustrious career has also seen six Hot 100 No. 1s. Overall, Drake holds 232 Billboard chart entries. He has also amassed the most Billboard Music Awards, with a total of 27.

Eminem won the Artist of the Decade award for the 2000s, and Grammy-award-winning singer Mariah Carey took home the honor for the 1990s.

Drake will receive the honor during the Billboard Awards, set to air live on Sunday, May 23rd at 8 P.M. on NBC.
