One of Gucci Mane’s former artists, Yung Mal, has been hit with murder charges.
The 25-year-old Atlanta rapper was among six people arrested and charged with the murder of a man killed in Decatur, Georgia, Saturday night at a Chevron gas station. Police say gunfire erupted at the store following an argument, and a man in his mid-40s was shot. He later died from his injuries at a local hospital.
Mal was charged with murder and violation of the street gang terrorism and prevention act. He, along with the other suspects, are being held at DeKalb County Jail.
Yung Mal was initially signed to Gucci Mane in 2017. However, when Wop formed The New 1017 Records, the “Walkin’” rapper was seemingly no longer a part of the label.
Representatives for Gucci Mane and Yung Mal have not commented publicly on the shooting.
