G-Herbo Says Nicki Minaj Is "Harder" Than Many Males Rappers
Chicago rapper G-Herbo is giving Nicki Minaj her flowers again for helping to boost his career years ago.
During an interview with Elliott Wilson promoting his latest project, "25," G-Herbo explained how Minaj remixing his breakout single, "Chi-Raq" helped him to gain the respect of his peers and solidified his position in hip-hop.
"Definitely shout-out to Nicki for that. That was like my first big break. You know what I'm saying. And that just go to tell you how long I've been just trying to get on that path of stardom," he explained.
"Chi-Raq" earned the rapper quite the reputation when he released it at just 17-years-old. Recently, the record was added to streaming platforms as part of Minaj re-releasing her critically-acclaimed mixtape, "Beam Me Up Scotty." The now 25-year-old said that having such a prominent co-sign gave him "confidence as an artist."
"To see if I could actually do it or not, rap toe-to-toe with the best of 'em. Nicki a female emcee, but she still like the hardest ever. And she harder than a lot of male emcees. For me to be able to get on a track with her and hold my own, it just gave me confidence to keep going."
