According to the lawsuit filed in Bronx Supreme Court on August 4th, 2021, a victim identified only as John Doe says he was sexually assaulted and trafficked by Bambaataa for four years. John Doe was 12-years-old when he met the Universal Zulu Nation founder while attending a meeting at the Bronx River Community Center. John Doe joined the Zulu Nation and soon began spending time at the apartment of Bambaataa and Zulu Nation co-founder Amad Henderson, which served as their official headquarters.
Bambaataa, whose real name is Lance Taylor, allegedly began grooming the young boy and eventually began showing him pornography and urging him to masturbate. John Doe says the abuse escalated over the years, ultimately leading to the rap leader selling him to other men for sex in exchange for money.
These accusations are just the latest in a long list of claims against the eccentric MC and DJ. In 2016, a former Zulu Nation member revealed in an interview that Bambaataa and other Zulu Nation members began sexually abusing him when he was a ninth-grader. After that revelation, other accusers poured in, telling similar tales of being groomed and then sex trafficked by Bambaataa.
Afrika Bambaataa has not publicly responded to these new claims. However, he has previously denied the accusations from 2016.
