Rising Houston hip-hop artist Chucky Trill was murdered while in Atlanta during NBA All-Star Weekend.
Trill was in Atlanta to network during the celebrity weekend and to perform at a virtual event. He was brutally slain when an unknown assailant drove up next to his car while he was on Interstate 85 in suburban Atlanta in the early morning hours on Friday. Trill was rushed to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The 33-year-old, whose real name was Corey Detiege, was well known in Texas. He has worked with fellow Houston staple Lil KeKe and Trapboy Freddy. UGK star Bun B paid his respects to Trill in an Instagram post, calling him a hardworking and humble man. The two share the same manager, Bone of Boneafied Entertainment.
Bone also spoke highly of his talented rapper, who was taken too soon, calling Trill "very passionate about his music, very humble young dude."
In 2018, Chucky Trill released his album "Music For The Soul." At the time of his untimely passing, he was gearing up to release two new projects, "No Rumors" and "Cartel Baby."
