Idaho residents are upset about rapper Nelly coming to their state fair.
The "Country Grammar" star will perform at the North Idaho State Fair in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, next month. Although tickets for the performance are selling out quickly, many neighbors are unhappy with the rapper's racy music being performed at their fair.
Many residents have complained that the 46-year-old Grammy award winner "glorifies the Pimp lifestyle," which sets a bad example for his younger fans.
A resident named Duane Rasmussen had strong words for the music icon, stating in a recent blog post that Nelly is seen as "a vile representation of what is currently wrong with America."
A local pastor also blasted the fair's board for making a "poor" decision when booking the hip-hop star. Nevertheless, organizers say they have no plans of canceling the performance, despite the possibility of protests from residents on the day of the concert.
Nelly will take the fairgrounds stage on August 23rd.
