The former reality television star died from a drug overdose during her 61st birthday celebration at her Oakland, California home on Sunday.
Lons gave Keyshia Cole up for adoption when she was very young to be raised in a loving home by close friends. Once she found success as an R&B musician, Keyshia and Frankie were reunited. Their sometimes tumultuous relationship played out during the singer’s BET reality series, “Keyshia Cole: My New Life.” Throughout the show, fans saw Frankie grappling with several-decades-long drug addiction, relapsing and getting clean several times.
Several of Frankie’s loved ones spoke on social media about her death, including her other daughter Elite, who described the pain of seeing her mother in a body bag. Keyshia Cole has not yet commented publicly on the loss of her biological mother.
We are sending prayers and positive vibes to the family, friends, and fans of Frankie Lons.
