Lil Durk has achieved unprecedented success. However, the OTF superstar is still looking to fulfill a goal he set for himself years ago: getting his high school diploma.
On Thursday, the 28-year-old took to Twitter, revealing that he was headed back to school after dropping out as a teenager.
“I’m going to get my high school diploma. I want to challenge myself on my goals and real life situations,” the “Backdoor” rapper wrote.

The announcement was met with immediate praise from fans, who sent well wishes and support to the Chicago native who has endured a string of personal tragedies in recent years. Last year, he said farewell to his longtime friend and OTF signee King Von, who was murdered outside of an Atlanta hookah lounge in November. Just seven months later, Durk’s older brother Dontay Banks, known as DThang, was killed outside of a Chicago nightclub in June.
Durk is currently accompanying Lil Baby on the Back Outside Tour, so it is unclear when he will begin studying to receive his diploma. Nevertheless, fans are rooting for him.
