LL Cool J Bringing Veteran Rap Acts to His Rock The Bells Festival

A new hip-hop music festival is coming your way and is presented by rap legend LL Cool J.

The "I Need Luv" rapper is expanding his Rock The Bells brand with the all-new Rock The Bells Festival. The prominent MC whose career has spanned three decades will bring along fellow rap legends such as Rick Ross, Lil Kim, Scarface, Trina, Fat Joe, and more for a one-of-a-kind music celebration that will celebrate some of the genre's biggest veterans.

The inaugural festival will take place on August 6th at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, New York, LL's hometown. Fellow New Yorker Roxanne Shanté will host this year's star-studded event.

The original Rock The Bells Festival was hosted by Guerilla Union in the early to mid-2000s. However, LL fought hard to take back the name "Rock The Bells," which was the title of his 1985 hit record. Despite petitioning the Name Trial and Appeal Board in 2017 to revoke all existing registrations, the promoter sought to reapply for the trademark several times. Finally, in 2019, LL sued the promotion company for stealing his name. Guerilla Union was ordered to hand over all control of its social media accounts, website domains, and any other intellectual property to LL by a judge.

Now, he is ready to capitalize on the music festival that has always been rightfully his.
