Memphis Comedian Gunned Down Days After Joking About Young Dolph’s Death

An upcoming Memphis comedian has been murdered, and his death may be linked to jokes he made about the late Young Dolph.

Local comedian Derrion "Dmuney" Childs was fatally shot on Tuesday around 10:00 p.m. while at a Valero gas station. When police arrived, they discovered two other victims. Childs was rushed to a nearby hospital but died shortly after. The unidentified female and male victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Shortly before his death, the 21-year-old poked fun at Dolph’s murder, which occurred in Memphis just days prior on November 17th.

“MANEEEE THEM FOLKS JUST KILLED YOUNG DOLPH. I LOVE MEMPHIS CUH WE SO GANGSTA,” Childs wrote in a now-deleted Facebook post. In a follow-up, Childs encouraged people fans and internet sleuths to stop trying to solve the murder.

While the Memphis Police Department confirmed Childs death, they have not officially announced if the murder was retaliation for his insensitive comments about the late rapper.

Let’s continue to keep the entire city of Memphis in our thoughts and prayers.
