P. Diddy has teamed up with Salesforce to launch a digital marketplace for Black-owned companies called SHOP CIRCULATE.
Diddy, who recently changed his name to Love Combs, introduced the initiative through his Sean Combs Enterprises. On Tuesday, both he and Salesforce announced SHOP CIRCULATE, which will present Black-owned companies with a platform that will help them reach global buyers and offer the consumers a broad spectrum of merchandise and services exclusively by Black people.
The "Bad Boy" founder, who had always promoted entrepreneurship, stated that he was "excited to partner with Salesforce to create a platform that will advance our collective pursuit of economic justice."
The marketplace's announcement arrived on the 100th anniversary of the Tulsa Race Massacre, which destroyed hundreds of Black-owned businesses and claimed the lives of at least 300 African Americans in Tulsa, Oklahoma. SHOP CIRCULATE promotes the importance of embracing Black businesspeople and "circulating" dollars within the African-American community.
Chair and CEO of Salesforce Marc Benioff stated that the company is "honored to collaborate with Sean Combs and Combs Enterprises to help close the unjust wealth gap that prevents too many Black Americans from achieving economic equality."
Though an exact launch date has not been announced, SHOP CIRCULATE is expected to be available for use later this year.
