The only adult suspect charged in the murder of Pop Smoke says the plan was to hit him with a vase, not kill him.
Corey Walker and his attorney, Christopher Darden, who is widely known for his work in the OJ Simpson trial, filed a motion on Friday to have the murder and robbery charges dropped. The filing claims that Walker did not enter Pop Smoke's Hollywood Hills home to hurt him on February 19th, 2020. Instead, he and the four other suspects were supposed to steal his diamond Rolex watch. They were only supposed to use a vase to defend themselves if the rapper fought back. However, after confronting the "Dior" rapper while he was in the shower, a 15-year-old who was a part of the crew shot and killed him. The suspects orchestrated the robbery after seeing Pop Smoke's jewelry on social media.
Darden maintains that all evidence shows Walker never had a weapon when he entered the home and was not the shooter. Walker even claims that he assaulted the 15-year-old killer about shooting Pop Smoke.
Walker's next hearing is scheduled for December 3rd.
