Rihanna has been praised for becoming a billionaire this year. However, the beauty mogul says her newfound wealth status has not been easy to accept.
During a recent chat with The New York Times, the "We Found Love" singer called her billionaire title "tricky" but wanted to motivate others that obtaining her level of success is not impossible.
"It's hard to even accept that's where you're at because I know where I've come from," Riri revealed. Despite her mixed feelings, the 33-year-old says that it "feels good to be able to inspire young women and boys, who like me, come from humble beginnings."
Forbes magazine reported that Rihanna's successful Fenty Beauty line had skyrocketed her to billionaire status. The 50 percent of the company that Ri owns is worth $1.4 billion alone, placing her net worth at approximately $1.7 billion. Under the Fenty umbrella, the star also offers Fenty Skin and SavageXFenty. Her luxury Fenty clothing brand was discontinued earlier this year after low sales.
Even though her apparel company did not catch on the way her other business ventures did, Rihanna has been crowned the "wealthiest female musician in the world." She holds the title for second wealthiest woman entertainer, with actress and talk show host Oprah Winfrey securing the top spot.
