Snoop Dogg has just landed a new gig as a senior strategic advisor at Def Jam.
The announcement was made on Monday via a press release, which explained that the legendary Cali MC had been appointed as the label's Executive Creative and Strategic Consultant. In this role, the "Gin & Juice" rapper will work closely with the label's executive team and artist roster, focusing on A&R and creative development.
Snoop will report directly to Universal Music Group Chairman & CEO Sir Lucian Grainge and Def Jam interim Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Harleston.
In a video posted to his Instagram account, Snoop explains that his main focus is to use experience from his nearly 30-year career to offer Def Jam acts wisdom and guidance. In addition, as a king of rebranding himself, the 49-year-old is looking to "diversify" the artist's catalog and elevate them to the next level.
Snoop's new position is his latest deal in a long line of fruitful endeavors. The avid marijuana enthusiast launched his cannabis company, Leafs By Snoop, as well as his own wine company, 19 Crimes Snoop Cali Red.
Cheers to Snoop Dogg for scoring another big bag.
