The Game has been ordered to pay back over $500,000 after failing to fulfill an Australian tour run.
Justice Sarah Derrington has ordered the Compton rapper to return $478,119.73 in damages, plus $78,508.08 in interest for the 2017 seven-city tour that never came to fruition. Stops that were expected across Australia included Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth.
Negotiations between promoters Tour Squad and The Game ended once the rapper made several outlandish demands, including requesting over $3 million for his tour documentary and all expenses paid for his 15-man entourage. He also increased his performance fee from $32,100 to $51,340, which Tour Squad disagreed with. The “Hate It Or Love It” MC ultimately pulled out of the tour after not getting his way, which was determined as a breach of contract by Justice Derrington.
The Game has not publicly commented on the ruling.
