Young Thug and Gunna stepped up over the weekend to bail out 30 inmates at the Fulton County Jail who were being held for minor offenses.
Fulton County Jail is known for often experiencing overcrowding, which results in harmful conditions throughout the facility. This is why Gunna and Thug put their money up to help out those who couldn't afford to pay their bail.
"We just woke up and went to the jail with the lawyer and the DAs and the prosecutors and the bonding companies and just got as many people as we can out," the "Pick Up the Phone" rapper explained.
The individuals released were greeted with a home-cooked meal and were reunited with their loved ones. Both Gunna and Young Thug are planning more mass-bail-out events in the future. Footage from their good deed will be featured in a forthcoming music video. While they didn't disclose how much they spent, they hope to inspire their fellow ballers to put their money towards something other than jewels and cars.
Thugger also criticized the price of bonds, which often do not fit the crime.
"You giving them a bond higher than what they stole," he said in an interview with Atlanta's WSB-TV.
